Complimentary AI Workshop for Kent-Based Charities

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming both organizations and broader society. However, many charities are struggling to keep up with these rapid changes and fully understand how AI can enhance their operations, while also managing the potential risks it may pose to their organizations and the communities they serve.

To address these challenges, Kent Community Foundation is offering Kent-based charities the opportunity to attend a free, three-hour workshop on how AI can support and advance their work. These sessions are part of the Foundation’s Infrastructure Support Fund, established with funding from Kent County Council to help charities strengthen their operations and grow.

The workshops, led by Tim Cook, a former government AI advisor, will guide charity leaders on how to confidently harness AI for their benefit. Tim recently shared his insights on the transformative potential of AI with the Kent Community Foundation team.

The workshops will take place from 10 am to 1 pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday, 10 October – Repton Community Trust, Ashford, TN23 3RX
  • Thursday, 17 October – Aylesham Community Trust, CT3 3AJ
  • Thursday, 24 October – Maidstone Community Support Centre, ME14 1HH
  • Tuesday, 5 November – The Bat and Ball Community Centre, Sevenoaks, TN14 5DN
  • Tuesday, 12 November – Sun Pier House, Chatham, ME4 4HF

Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive of Kent Community Foundation, said:

“We believe that providing charities with access to free AI workshops is a valuable investment. Our Infrastructure Support Fund aims to enhance leadership skills, promote good governance, strengthen organizational strategies, and drive sustainable growth. These workshops are a great way to leverage the funding and reach a broader audience. AI offers numerous opportunities for charities, and we want to empower them to embrace these tools with ease.”

Tim Cook, founder of AIConfident, added:

“At AIConfident, we see AI as a powerful tool for building a more just society. However, it also presents risks. Our mission is to provide impartial guidance to help charities cut through the hype and confidently embrace AI with integrity.”

Attendees are required to bring a laptop for the session.
